Assetto Corsa Competizione features a large number of cars, (over 50 in total), spanning across various different classes. Originally, ACC launched with a sole focus on GT3 cars, with more and more GT3 cars added as the game developed.
GT4 cars were added as part of the GT4 DLC Pack in 2020. This DLC added 11 GT4 cars from a range of manufacturers such as BMW, Audi, Mercedes-AMG, KTM and more. GT2 cars were one of the most recent additions to the ACC car list. 6 new GT2 cars were added in 2024, alongside the introduction of the Red Bull Ring circuit.
In 2022, as part of the Challenger Pack DLC, the developers Kunos Simulazioni, added 5 new cars. These cars sat outside of the GT2, GT3 and GT4 classes, with the new cars being cup cars or special single make series cars.
All three car classes in ACC, GT2, GT3 and GT4 are all forms of touring cars, or Grand Touring cars, which is where the term GT comes from. The number at the end of each class of car dictates differences in the overall performance of each car.
GT3 cars are more powerful and faster than GT4 cars, while GT2 cars are even more powerful. GT4 cars will often look very similar to the road cars in which they are based on. There aren’t often many aerodynamic or bodywork changes to GT4 cars.
GT3 cars can look quite different to GT4 and road cars with a much larger focus on aerodynamic performance. You will often find large spoilers, as well as completely reworked body panels, optimised for aerodynamic performance. GT3 engines are also tuned to create much more power than a GT4 car.
Sitting at the top of the performance tree are GT2 cars. These, along with GTE cars which are often very similar have slightly more performance than a GT3 car. The performance increase isn’t as large as the jump from GT4 to GT3, but is still noticeable.
Yes, Assetto Corsa Competizione includes cars from the GT3, GT2 and GT4 motorsport series. The base version of the game does only include GT3 cars. Both GT2 and GT4 cars are available in premium DLC car packs.
New cars are being added to Assetto Corsa Competizione regularly. These come in the form of paid DLC packs, as well as free car updates. Cars such as the BMW M4 GT3 and Ford Mustang GT3 were added to the game for free, for all players. Bigger car packs such as the GT2 and GT4 car packs have introduced completely new disciplines and styles of car.
