LFM BoP Setups: What You Need To Know
When racing in any series on Low Fuel Motorsports, the LFM BoP (Balance of Performance) will be in effect. This BoP adjusts the performance of each car to bring all cars in line in terms of speed. This is so that every car can perform equally, opening up the car selection for each series, rather than everyone using the same car because it is faster.
How does the LFM BoP work?
The Balance of Performance is implemented by making weight ballast adjustments for every car. Certain cars which are naturally faster, and capable of putting in the fastest lap times have weight added. While other cars which are slower can have weight removed.
By adding ballast, a car will become slower, and removing ballast allows a car to lap faster. These adjustments are made on a per-car basis, meaning every car is evaluated, and weight either added or removed ahead of the first session each week.
When is the LFM Balance of Performance updated?
At the start of every new week, the team at Low Fuel Motorsport updates the BoP for all cars. This happens before any sessions take place for the new week.
